Football Talk app for iPhone and iPad

Local language difficulties have long been a problem for footballers moving abroad.

There are plenty of apps and translation tools to help with general phrases and words
but nothing when it comes to communicating on a football pitch or with your
manager, team mates and the fans.
That was, until the launch of Football Talk.


The app is the brainchild of professional footballer Zesh Rehman, the first British Asian
to start a Premier League match and play in all four professional leagues in England.

He is currently playing in Thailand with Muangthong United, where Football Talk has
already proved popular. It has been trialled successfully by a number of current and
former team mates including Robbie Fowler, who is playing alongside Rehman in the
Thai Premier League, Winnie Schafer, German head coach of the Thailand National
Team, and Michael Mancienne who now plays for Hamburg in Germany.

Using the app is easy:

-Browse phrases by category or search for specific words

-See how the foreign word is written then play the audio clip to hear it spoken

-Use Football Talk to speak accurately and confidently to team mates, fans and media

The app features a huge amount of phrases, spanning 10 subject categories. These
range from technical terminology to the everyday sentences you will need to get by in
your new home country.

The app currently supports translations between English, French, Spanish, German,
Portuguese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay and of course Thai, with plans already underway to add more languages and
phrases in the future. As it stands the app packs in 1000 essential phrases for each of
the six supported languages, with 6000 audio clips featured.
